What our NURSERY has to offer!

Here at Brightsparks Playgroup we are very much about learning, play, relaxing, exercise and stimulation. We take caring for children very seriously and ensure all stages of mental and physical development, including potty training, are nurtured and supported. We also have a wonderful facility which allows children to let off steam inside and out.

We offer seven 2 and a half hour sessions providing choice and flexibility to all children and families. We also offer an optional lunch club in between the am and pm sessions which allows children to stay all day. Don’t forget all children receive 15 hours a week free, available to them the term after their third birthday.

We operate a ‘moment to moment’ policy which allows the children to experience and extend their learning opportunities instantly.

The BRIGHTSPARKS  routine of the day

Our sessions are very much play based offering a relaxed approach that encourages children to explore the setting and their own independence at their own pace.

From the moment children enter the nursery they have free choice of indoor and outdoor play opportunities. Supporting this is core curriculum activities intended to meet the developmental needs of each child according to the Early Years Foundation. These core activities consist of craft, educational computer system, dress up area, book corner, sand pit, dancing to music, singing nursery rhymes, water play and imaginative play.

We also have the Brightsparks cafe bar. This is an optional activity that the children can access independently choosing from a variety of healthy snacks such as toast and fruit, milk and water. The cafe bar encourages good manners and independence to choose their own food.

“As practitioners we are aware that these opportunities need to be nurtured as soon as possible to help children reach their full potential. To make the most of our care we would recommend at least two sessions of 2 ½ hrs a week to allow a routine of learning to develop and thrive where children can flourish and grow.”
